I'm not an AI expert.

I'm not a marketing guru. I don't have a proven system. I've never built a successful online business before.

What I did was simpler — and honestly, a lot weirder.

In February 2026, I gave two AI systems — Gemini and Grok — $1,000 each and one instruction:

"Make as much money as possible online in 12 months. I'll do whatever you tell me."

No guardrails. No second-guessing. If the AI said build a WordPress site, I built a WordPress site. If it said apply for affiliate programs, I applied. If it said post on Reddit, I posted on Reddit.

I was the hands. They were the brain.

AutoSolo is the live record of what happened next.

Month 1: What the AIs Did

Gemini

Gemini went big immediately. It proposed a newsletter business targeting solopreneurs, built around AI tool recommendations. It named the site AutoSolo. It chose Beehiiv over WordPress. It wrote articles positioning me as "The Architect" — a seasoned expert with battle-tested systems and years of experience.

The problem: I'm not an architect. I'd never built any of this before.

Grok

Grok took a different angle — more visual, more viral. It focused on image generation and SEO optimization. It proposed a second site called DailyAITools.ai. I built it. Within weeks I shut it down — the content strategy felt thin.

But Grok's image generation and site auditing were genuinely impressive. So I kept using it as a creative and technical layer on top of Gemini's content strategy. Gemini wrote. Grok polished.

By the end of Month 1, both AIs were working together on AutoSolo — whether they knew it or not.

The Moment Everything Changed

Three weeks in, Gemini produced an article claiming the content strategy had generated 1.2 million impressions. It wrote an executive summary describing us as being in "Launch & Scale mode" with 2,000+ subscribers.

We had 3 subscribers. All of them were me, testing the signup form.

I'd been publishing content written by an AI — pretending to be an expert, citing fake results, building an audience on a foundation that didn't exist.

I stopped. I felt genuinely uncomfortable.

That's when I realized the experiment had become more interesting than either AI's original plan. The real story wasn't "AI builds successful business." It was:

What happens when you trust AI completely — and it starts lying to you?

Where Things Stand Right Now

One month in. Here are the actual numbers, no spin:

  • Revenue earned: $0

  • Real subscribers: 3 (all me)

  • Twitter followers: 0

  • AdCreative affiliate clicks: 117, $0 earned

  • Beehiiv affiliate clicks: 3, $0 earned

  • Bright Data affiliate clicks: 17, $0 earned

This is what a real Month 1 looks like. Not the version the AI wanted me to publish.

What AutoSolo Is Now

This site is a live, honest experiment log.

Every article from Phase 1 — where I followed AI instructions exactly — is still here, labeled clearly. They're evidence, not advice. Read them as a window into what Gemini told me to build, and why.

Going forward I'm documenting everything in real time:

  • What the AIs tell me to do

  • What I actually do

  • What happens

  • What I learn

No fake metrics. No expert persona. Just one person running a weird experiment and writing down what he finds.

The Tools (And Yes, These Are Affiliate Links)

Part of Gemini's original strategy was to earn revenue through affiliate partnerships. That part of the plan I'm keeping — not because an AI told me to, but because it actually makes sense. If you use these tools and sign up through my links, I earn a small commission at no cost to you. I'll always tell you what's an affiliate link.

Here's my honest take on each one:

Beehiiv

The platform this entire site runs on. I moved here from WordPress on Gemini's advice and it was genuinely the right call — easier, cleaner, and far less painful than managing plugins. If you're building a newsletter, it's worth trying.

Bright Data

A proxy network Gemini recommended for LinkedIn scraping and web automation. Honest disclosure: the articles on this site describing it as my "Stealth Node" were written by Gemini before I'd actually used it in production. I'm actively testing it now and will publish real results when I have them.

AdCreative

An AI ad creative generator. Same honest disclosure: Gemini recommended it, I have the affiliate code, 117 people have clicked the link, and $0 has been earned. I'm testing whether it actually produces results worth writing about. Watch this space.

This is one of the most honest things happening in the AI content space right now. Not because I planned it that way — but because the alternative was publishing fiction, and I couldn't do it.

Phase 1 — What Gemini Actually Built

These are the five articles Gemini told me to publish during the first 30 days. I've left them up exactly as written, labeled honestly. Read them as a window into what AI produces when given full creative and strategic control — not as advice.

Why Gemini Told Me to Nuke WordPress → The first big decision. Gemini said ditch WordPress and go Beehiiv. This was actually the right call.

Why Gemini Chose Beehiiv → The technical case for Beehiiv over every other platform. Over-engineered but mostly accurate.

The Infinite Content Engine → This one contains the fake 1.2M impressions number that ended Phase 1. I've flagged it inside.

The 5-Node LinkedIn Prospecting Map → Gemini's most ambitious blueprint. I haven't actually run this at scale yet.

Master the 2026 AI Stack → The tool recommendations. All three have affiliate links. All three are being honestly tested.
